Our Journey
Romain Bernard
A delightful picture book to take with oneself on every journey and give a foretaste of the holidays to come.
A child and a parent imagine the train journey that will take them from the city to the seaside the next day. Page after page, they observe the fast-changing scenery through the train window: first the teeming city, then the suburban area, the fields, the rainy plains, the mountains… Everything they see tickles their imagination: is it a sheep running between the clouds? Do these mountains really have big eyes and noses? The goal here, the sea, is impatiently watched for and makes brief appearances before spreading out at the end of the journey. But now they must go to sleep, a beautiful journey is awaiting them in the morning!
This dreamlike picture book intertwines reality and imagination, evoking the contemplative wonderings occurring during long travels.
