I miss
Anne-Margot Ramstein
A smart book by award-winning author Anne-Margot Ramstein on the emotional and sensuous power of childhood memories.
At the centre of each spread of this book, a round die-cut represents a missing element in the image, the anchor point of a memory introduced with the words “I miss”: the almighty sun, the buoy far-off from the beach, a wild guava fruit... These round shapes refer to the author’s childhood, spent on the island of La Réunion. But beyond the island, the winning marbles, the lollipops traded in the schoolyard, the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae are memories that belong to a universal childhood that lives in each and every one of us.
A stunning picture book where the regained time of childhood has the shape of a circle that every reader will fill with their own recollections.
