While he’s asleep one night, a child gets kidnapped by a giant bat. After a dreadful flight under the bat’s wings, the child’s fear vanishes when they land and their eyes meet: no doubt, the bat is a friend. In the magical adventure that follows, the two friends discover incredible places and meet strange characters: an Eden-like Garden where they pick an apple for their snack, a sumptuous palace where a giant creature uses its tongue to lick its new friends but also has the power to make photographs come out of its mouth. Icinori is a duo of illustrators composed of Mayumi Otero and Raphaël Urwiller. They draw, design, publish and invest a wide field of projects such as illustration, graphic design, exhibitions, publishing and teaching. They have published several artist books and children’s books, including Et Puis (Albin Michel Jeunesse, 2018), which received a Mention in the Fiction Category – Bologna Ragazzi Award 2019 and the Belgian Libbylit Award in the OVNI Category.
